The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Sunday, said nobody was harassing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, and advised the party to go face prosecution for the alleged murder of Inspector Onuh Akoh, who was shot at the Benin Airport gate on the 18th of June, 2024.
The Director of Publicity, APC Edo Governorship Campaign Council, Comrade Orobosa Omo-Ojo while reacting to an allegation by the People Democratic Party (PDP) that the party in connivance with the police is harassing and arresting its chieftains.
Orobosa Omo-Ojo’s reaction was contended in a press statement he signed and made available to journalists in Benin City.
Omo-Ojo said, “The People’s Democratic Party in Edo State has become a huge embarrassment to itself with its unrelenting media attack on the Nigerian Police, and other security agencies in the country.
“PDP has abandoned campaigns to concentrate on mischievous propaganda to cover up their failure to articulate campaign strategy which has become obvious with their dwindling members.
“Nigerians will recall that the All Progressives Congress in Edo State has been under intense violent attacks from the state-sponsored Edo State Security Network, ESSN and Public Work Volunteers PUWOV.
“Only recently, a chieftain of the PDP, Prince Emmanuel Odigie was seen on Arise Television calling on the Nigerian Army to sack the democratically elected federal government of Nigeria.
“The same Prince Emmanuel Odigie told Nigerians that he was present at a meeting where members of the Presidency, including Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Chief of Staff to President Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila he claimed perfected plans with some notable APC leaders in Edo State to rig the forthcoming September 21st Governorship Election in Edo State while President Tinubu will be on a disguised trip out of the country.
“These are obvious infractions of the law that need thorough investigation. Earlier, the Deputy Director General of Asue Ighodalo Campaign Organisation, Rev Olu Martins had openly charged some PDP agents to attack members of the opposition in a viral video. The said Martins is now standing criminal trial for his pro-violent conduct. “
