Hauwa Sani, a 30-year-old woma arrested by the police operatives attached to Keffi Division is now helping investigators at the force headquarters, Abuja on how she began the business of supplying ammunitions to criminals.
Little did Hauwa know that her journey to Katsina State which started at a remote village called Rafin Sanyi in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State with 124 rounds of anti-aircraft ammunition to supply in Katsina state, would terminate along the way.
Hauwa ran out of luck when the vehicle she was traveling on Friday conveying 124 rounds of the said anti aircraft ammunition concealed in a gallon of palm oil was intercepted by the police following a tip off.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nasarawa State Police Command, Nansel Ranham said Hauwa was apprehended alongside a two years old child of Doro Village in Katsina State.
“At about 1710hrs, based on credible information, Police operatives attached to Keffi Division intercepted and got one Hauwa Sani ‘F’ alongside a 2 years old child of Doro village, Katsina state arrested”.
“Consequently, one hundred and twenty-four (124) rounds of Anti Aircraft ammunition concealed in a gallon of palm oil, one Tecno mobile phone, and cash sum of Seventy-eight thousand, five hundred Naira N78,500) were recovered from the suspect as exhibit” the statement said.
The police image maker said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect received supply of the ammunition at Rafin Sanyi village of Doma LGA of Nasarawa, concealed the items in a gallon of palm oil en route Katsina before nemesis caught up with her.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has, however, ordered the transfer of the suspect and exhibit to Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters Abuja for further investigation.
