A massive fire swept through a two-storey residential building at 14 Oko Baba Street, off Ibadan Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos, on Sunday, leaving a trail of destruction and millions of naira in losses.
The blaze, which started around 11:30 a.m. in a top-floor flat, quickly spread to neighboring units, including a two-bedroom flat, a room and parlor self-contained unit, and a single room.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported, thanks to swift responses from emergency services.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, federal firefighters, and the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) collaborated to extinguish the fire by 2 p.m.
As of press time, the cause of the fire remained unknown, with investigations ongoing.
