The kidnappers who abducted a 300-level student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun State, identified as Christiana Idowu, along the Ikorodu-Yaba Road last week has demanded the sum of N3 million for her release.
Christiana was reportedly on her way from her home in Ita-Oluwo, Ikorodu, to the University of Lagos in Yaba for her industrial training when she was seized by the abductors.
The family became concerned when they could no longer reach Christiana.
A family source said, “They are communicating with the family through her WhatsApp, and after we paid the N350,000 ransom, they refused to release her and are demanding a bank statement from us.
We have reported the matter to the police and are seeking help from the government and the public.”
When contacted, Ogun State Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Folashade Oluwole, stated she was not aware of the incident but promised to follow up.
