Former Nigerian international Brown Ideye has advised Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen to prioritize his financial future over trophies amid growing interest from Premier League giants Chelsea and Saudi Arabia outfit, Al Ahli.
As rumours swirl about Osimhen’s potential departure from Napoli, Ideye suggests that the striker should focus on securing a lucrative contract that the Saudi Arabia move guarantees instead of prioritising a stay in Europe.
Osimhen has been linked with several top clubs after hitting 76 goals and 18 assists in 133 games for Napoli but Chelsea and Al Ahli are the two clubs left in the race for the 25-year-old.
Al Ahl have offered the Nigerian a stunning £120 million contract to join up; according to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Saudi Arabian club are willing to pay Osimhen an annual salary of £30million for four years.
It is believed that negotiations are on between the two parties but the player’s agent is extremely reluctant to allow his player to quit European football yet.
However, Ideye, who is an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner advised his compatriot to disregard calls discouraging him from moving to the Middle East.
