Nigerian-born South African model, Chidimma Adetshina on Saturday emerged as the 2024 Miss Universe Nigeria.
It would be recalled that Adetshina entered as Miss Taraba at the last minute after withdrawing from Miss South Africa due to hostile online utterances about her nationality and indictments of fraud by the South African Home Office.
Following her withdrawal, Miss Universe organizers extended an offer, which she accepted.
However, the top five contestants at the just concluded Mis Universe pageantry were Miss Taraba, Chidimma Adetshina, Miss Anambra, Paula Ezendu, Miss Edo, Edeifo Brittany, Miss Ondo, Ayegbidun Peace Olamide, and Miss Rivers, Nyekachi Douglas.
The top three winners were Miss Ondo as Miss Lush, and Miss Anambra as the first runner-up, earning the title of Miss Supranational while Chidimma Adetshina Miss Taraba was declared the winner.
“This crown is not just for beauty; it’s a call for unity,” She stated after she was crowned.
Chidimma will now represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe contest.
