Leicester could face another PSR charge after winning their appeal over alleged breaches of the Premier League’s rules. The Foxes faced charges of breaking Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) relating to the three years ending with the 2022- 23 campaign.
The league accused the club of spending more than the permitted £105 million threshold for that period and referred the case to an independent commission. On Tuesday, the commission’s verdict came out which upheld the club’s appeal against the charges.
However, The Guardian now reports that the 2015-16 league winners could face another points deduction as the Premier League has asked the club to produce their 2023-24 accounts by the end of December.
The league introduced a new PSR law last summer under which they can ask clubs who have made losses in the first two years of the three-year accounting period to produce their accounts by December 31 so that they can evaluate them and take appropriate sanctions by the end of the football season in June.
