Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has put academic activities on hold in 10 schools in Asaba, the Oshimili South Local Government Area of the state for the success of the National Youth Games.
The Governor said the affected schools would be closed from Monday, September 9, to Thursday 19.
The schools include West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, Junior Staff Primary School, Asaba, Government Model Secondary School, Asaba, Unity Secondary School, Asaba and Osadenis Mixed Secondary School, Asaba.
Others are, Anglican Girls Grammar School, Asaba, St. Patrick’s College, West End, Asaba, Infant Jesus Academy, Asaba, Master Care International School, Asaba and Model Technical College, Asaba.
The Governor who spoke through Director of Public Communication, Mrs Adiabua Oliko, who doubles as the Acting Permanent Secretary of the state’s Ministry of Information in Asaba said the affected schools would be open for admission activities during the lockdown but to re-open for academics by Monday, September 23.
