The Governor of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris, has commiserated with his Borno State counterpart, Professor Babagana Zulum and the people of the state over the devastating flood that caused unimaginable havoc in the state.
In a sympathy message to Governor Zulum, Governor Idris described the incident that cut across Borno State as highly devastating and unprecedented in the history of flood devastation in the country in recent years.
Statement issued on Wednesday by Abdullahi Idris Zuru, Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy said the governor consoled the governor to remain faithful and consider it as unavoidable act of God.
He noted with sympathetic feeling, that critical government institutions such as the Government House, teaching hospital, Shehu of Borno’s Palace, state secretariat, schools and business centres were reported to have been affected.
Governor Idris added that ” although we in Kebbi have experienced similar unfortunate incident, we share your grief, and we are deeply pained by the natural disaster.”
He prayed to Allah to replace the lost valuable properties of the victims and grant eternal rest to those who lost their lives.
Comrade Nasir recommended for the constitution of a high powered committee of experts by the governments of the states prone to flood, that will collaborate with relevant federal government agencies and come up with lasting solution to the annual disaster.
