Gunmen have again, attacked the Mbar community, in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing five persons in the process.
The victims, all young men, were said to have been ambushed by the suspected terrorists on motorcycles while traveling from Mbar town to Koh village.
The Bokkos Cultural Development Council (BCDC) Vanguard, led by its Chairman, Farmasum Fuddang and nine other members, has condemned the criminal act, In a statement yesterday in Jos, the group described the attack as part of a troubling trend of armed assaults in the region.
The BCDC Vanguard emphasized the importance of local community involvement in addressing security threats, advocating a collaborative approach between residents and security forces.
“We do not intend to undermine the efforts of the military. However, we recognise their logistical and manpower challenges.
Local community members, familiar with the terrain, can play a crucial role in gathering intelligence to identify and expose criminal elements.”
