The All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a significant lead in the Edo State governorship election ahead of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after results from 16 out of 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) have been declared.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the results before going on recess, with plans to reconvene at 5 PM to declare the final two LGA results from Oredo and Ikpoba Okha.
Asue Ighodalo of the PDP and Monday Okpebolo of the APC both won in their respective LGAs, but the overall tally shows the APC candidate in the lead as the collation process nears its conclusion.
All eyes are now on the final results as the election nears its decisive moments.
