As the collation of results for the Edo State governorship election continues, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has secured victories in three out of the five Local Government Areas (LGAs) announced so far.
In Ovia North East LGA, the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) both tied with 13,225 votes, while the Labour Party (LP) trailed with 1,675 votes.
For Uhunmwonde LGA,)the PDP took the lead with 9,339 votes, followed closely by the APC with 8,776 votes, and LP with 769.
Meanwhile, the APC secured victories in Owan West LGA with 12,277 votes, outpacing the PDP, which garnered 11,284 votes. LP earned 201 votes in the LGA.
In Esan West LGA, the APC maintained its momentum, polling 12,952 votes, while PDP followed with 11,004 votes. LP scored 342.
Finally, in Igueben LGA the PDP emerged victorious with 8,470 votes. The APC secured 5,907 votes, while LP managed to score 494.
The ongoing collation shows a competitive race between the two leading parties, PDP and APC, with expectations high as more results are awaited. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues to oversee the transparent process while urging calm among voters and party supporters.
