Former President of the Senate, David Mark, on Tuesday said that for Nigeria to progress, it must learn from its past mistakes.
Mark said this in his goodwill message to Nigeria as the country marks its 64th Independence Anniversary on October 1.
Mark evaluated Nigeria’s history and suggested that it is now necessary to engage in thoughtful consideration.
In the message shared by his former media adviser, Paul Mumeh, Senator Mark observed and looked back on Nigeria’s progress, stating that despite facing issues like insecurity, poverty, illness, and overall lack of development, the country.
“Is rich in both human and natural resources that have the potential to improve Nigeria’s situation significantly.” This, he said is achievable if all citizens are patriotic and united with a common mission and purpose.
“Disappointing as the situation may seem, the shortcomings of the past should serve as useful lessons for progress. We must learn from our past mistakes and work towards a better future,” Mark said.
