Popular Social Media Activist, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has disclosed how he obtained a controversial audio recording of cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky.
Speaking at the house of Representatives panel of investigation regarding the bribery allegations involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), VeryDarkMan submitted part of the recording to the committee, affirming its authenticity.
New Telegraph had earlier reported that VeryDarkMan appeared on Monday before the Joint Committees on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions, where the investigation into alleged bribery and corruption by the EFCC and NCoS began.
VeryDarkMan initially refused to address the panel without Bobrisky, who sent a lawyer in his place.
Lawmakers compelled VeryDarkMan to provide testimony after he insisted that his lawyer speak for him.
He eventually revealed that the audio recording, which has gone viral, was received from someone whom Bobrisky allegedly owed money.
It would be recalled that VeryDarkMan in a viral video accused Bobrisky of paying ₦15 million to have the EFCC drop money laundering charges against him following his naira-spraying incident in April, which resulted in a six-month prison sentence.
He further alleged that Bobrisky paid millions to secure a privileged position within the prison system.
Bobrisky has denied the allegations, and both the EFCC and NCoS have launched investigations into the blogger’s claims. Additionally, the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has called on the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Lateef Fagbemi, and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations.
