The Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), Keir Starmer, Sue Gray has reportedly resigned.
Gray is expected to take on a new role as the Prime Minister’s envoy for nations and regions.
This was contained in a statement from Downing Street on Sunday noting that Gray had been in disputes over her salary, following revelations that she earned more than the prime minister.
Thanking Ms Gray for her work preparing Labour for government and in Downing Street, Sir Keir said he was delighted she would stay by his side in her new role.
He said, “All the support she has given me, both in opposition and government and her work to prepare us for government and get us started on our programme of change.”
He added, “Sue has played a vital role in strengthening our relations with the regions and nations. I am delighted that she will continue to support that work.”
