Israeli Government on Friday condemned a report released by the United Nations (UN) Independent International Commission of Inquiry.
New Telegraph reports that the UN report released on Thursday accused Israel of deliberately destroying Gaza’s healthcare system and committing widespread abuse of Palestinian detainees.
The UN’s reports also claimed Israel’s actions in Gaza amounted to war crimes and crimes against humanity, including extermination.
The commission accused Israel of targeting medical facilities and personnel in Gaza.
It further described the assaults as part of a “Concerted policy” to undermine the territory’s healthcare system.
UN criticized Israel for alleged mistreatment of Palestinian detainees, describing it as systematic abuse.
In a statement from its mission in Geneva, Israel rejected the report as “outrageous”.
It accused the UN body of trying to delegitimize its right to self-defense.
The mission also highlighted that Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have used medical facilities for terrorist activities, a claim the UN report disregarded.
Israel urged the international community to oppose what it described as a biased approach that undermines the credibility of the UN and its Human Rights Council.
The UN commission, established to investigate violations in Israel and the Palestinian territories, released this report as part of its ongoing examination of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, following Hamas’s deadly October 7 attack last year.
