A former Commissioner for Sports in Lagos, Mr Wahid Enitan Oshodi, has been elected as the President of the African Table Tennis Federation (ATTF).
Oshodi was unanimously elected at the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Tuesday.
He is by this development the only Nigerian currently presiding over a continental sports organization and the second Nigerian to hold the prestigious position of ATTF President, following the steps of Engr. Segun George.
He began his journey as Chairman of the Lagos State Table Tennis Association and his achievements in that role caught the attention of many, and in 2011, he was appointed Commissioner for Youth, Sports, and Social Development during the administration of Governor Babatunde Fashola.
His influence grew on the international stage in 2021 when he was elected Executive Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and Deputy President of ATTF.
