Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa posted a five-star performance to power Kano Pillars to a 4-3 victory at Enugu Rangers yesterday.
Musa, in the 45th minute of the game, outran the defenders of the reigning champions to score his third goal of the season Incidentally, the goal, Pillars’ fourth of the day, turned out to be the winner for the visitors as the hosts turned up the magic in the second half to score three goals Musa was involved in all the other goals scored by his team – won the two penalties and assisted for the second goal.
Veteran Rabiu Ali scored twice from the penalty spot, while Zulkifilu also got among the goals for Pillars.
After the break, Rangers rallied back with a brace by Isaac Saviour and a goal by Silas Nenrot, but that was not enough to salvage a result for the champions. The win on the road has lifted Pillars to sixth in the standings.
