President Bola Tinubu has joined the people of Ile-Ife, chiefs, and the global Yoruba community in celebrating the 50th birthday anniversary of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, the Ojaja II.
In a statement issued on Thursday, President Tinubu acknowledged Oba Ogunwusi’s wisdom and sense of duty as the spiritual leader of the Yoruba people.
The President highlighted the Ooni’s remarkable leadership and maturity since his coronation at the age of 41.
He extolled his efforts to preserve Yoruba traditions in the ancient city, known as “The Source.”
He, as well acknowledged his critical role as Co-Chairman of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, commending the Ooni’s advocacy for religious tolerance, peace, and youth and women empowerment, particularly through education and entrepreneurship.
Tinubu also lauded the Ooni’s philanthropy and dedication to uplifting the underprivileged across Nigeria and beyond.
As Oba Ogunwusi marks this significant milestone, the President offered prayers for his continued success and prosperity.
He further affirmed that his reign will continue to benefit the people of Ife and the nation.
