The Benue State Working Committee (SWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has commended the immediate past Governor of the state, Chief Samuel Ortom over his party building efforts.
The SWC led by its Chairman, Hon. Ezekiel Adaji, stated this when they paid a courtesy call on the leader of the party in the state, Ortom at his residence in Makurdi.
Speaking while receiving the team, Chief Ortom urged the party’s new SWC to rebuild and strengthen the party’s electoral fortunes to reclaim power from the All Progressives Congress APC-led government in the 2027 elections.
Chief Ortom said with all the congresses in Benue now completed, the PDP SWC must move to reintegrate aggrieved members back into the party.
The former governor assured that he, along with Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro and other party leaders, would support them in their efforts to succeed.
He congratulated them on their success at the just concluded congresses, emphasizing that the state chapter of the party would continue to support the PDP Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, in managing the party’s affairs.
Earlier, Chairman of the party, Hon. Adaji expressed gratitude to Chief Ortom for his efforts in strengthening the party and steering it back to success.
He also unveiled plans by the SWC to rebuild the party and secure victory in future elections.
Hon. Adaji reaffirmed the commitment of the SWC members not to disappoint party faithful and thanked supporters for their unalloyed support to them.
