The immediate past Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, has called on Nigerians to exercise patience and endure the economic challenges brought about by President Tinubu’s reform policies.
Speaking at the inauguration of Shafih Amusa as Emperor and Muritala Adekunle as Deputy Emperor of the Empire Section of Abeokuta Sports Club on Saturday, Adeoluwa emphasized that these reforms, though tough now, are essential for the rejuvenation of the economy and a brighter future for Nigeria.
Acknowledging the widespread hardship, Adeoluwa noted that the government is on the right path and that Nigerians will soon begin to see the benefits of these necessary reforms.
He urged citizens to bear with the government, describing everyone as stakeholders in the country’s development.
Adeoluwa’s remarks came during an event that saw the presence of several dignitaries, including the President of Abeokuta Sports Club, Seni Ogunyemi, who also heads the Ogun State Transport Compliance and Enforcement Agency; Commissioner for Women Affairs, Adijat Adeleye; and Commissioner for Forestry, Engr. Taiwo Oludotun.
Newly inaugurated Emperor Shafih Amusa highlighted the role of social clubs in supporting the government’s developmental efforts, especially during tough economic times.
Amusa pledged that the Abeokuta Sports Club would continue its tradition of philanthropy and community support.
He also encouraged the youth to stay positive and avoid vices, emphasizing the importance of integrity and community service for achieving long-term success.
Amusa, a seasoned revenue consultant, further expressed his commitment to using his experience and networks to uplift humanity and contribute to the development of Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
He described the Empire Section as a space for camaraderie, relaxation, and national development, reinforcing the club’s values of unity and friendship.
