Soldiers fighting terrorism in Kaduna State and environs said they killed eight bandits following a gun battle in the Birnin Gwari area of the state.
The soldiers who were conducting fighting patrols came across the bandits in two different locations and neutralized eight in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.
Samuel Aruwan, Overseeing Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State in a statement said troops disclosed this to the state government in their operational feedback.
He said: “The troops commenced the fighting patrol to Kampanin Doka general area, and on arrival at the location, made contact with bandits. “The troops promptly engaged and neutralised seven of the bandits.
“After securing and searching the area, the troops recovered three AK-47 rifles, eight AK-47 magazines; four empty and four loaded with a total of 120 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.”
