The ongoing Kebbi State Local Government elections has witnessed peaceful and impressive turned out in various polling units across the state.
Our Correspondent who monitored the conduct reports that the elections for LG Chairmen and Councillors positions in Kebbi has commenced peacefully with massive turnout of voters across designated polling units across 250 wards of the 21 councils.
The exercise commenced with accreditation and voting simultaneously in most polling units as early as 8:30am following early arrival of materials and officials at polling units.
The materials, security personnel , party agents of the 17 participating political parties and election monitors were prompt at most polling units visited with appreciable turnout of voters in long queues waiting to cast their votes.
However, observed that women voters out numbered the men in most polling units visited within the state capital.
Although, in Argungu town , the exercise did not commence early in some polling units until around 9: 30 am due to an early morning down pour even as all sensitive materials were distributed on Friday.
