Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has announced a cash reward of N310 million to youth leaders across the 31 Local Government Areas for their decision to boycott the recent #EndBadGovernance protest/
Announcing the fulfilment of the reward, Governor Eno expressed his appreciation, stating that each LGA will receive N10 million to be distributed across party lines.
This reward made during a thank-you rally at Uyo Township Stadium, was in fulfilment of a promise the governor made prior to the nationwide protest, which took place from August 1st to 10th.
He emphasized the importance of avoiding violence, despite acknowledging the concerns raised by the protests, which included issues such as hunger and unemployment.
Eno also governor announced plans to bolster youth employment and support, including the expansion of the Ibom Community Watch initiative, an increased student bursary, and the introduction of an employment portal for easier job recruitment.
