Professor Theophilus Ndubuaku, National Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Political Commission, has commended Senator Nenadi Usman as a person of integrity and a capable leader to helm the Labour Party (LP) as its Caretaker Committee Chairperson.
In an interview with Vanguard, Ndubuaku clarified that Usman’s appointment was a collective decision involving all stakeholders, including the party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.
He debunked claims that the NLC had given conditions for recognizing the Caretaker Committee, stating that they were consulted and happy with the development.
Ndubuaku emphasized the NLC’s support for democratic processes and belief in giving everyone an opportunity to contest elections.
He expressed confidence in Usman’s ability to bring a motherly approach to resolving party differences and repositioning the party.
The NLC Chairman noted that the party’s success in winning Lagos and Abuja indicates its potential for growth, and he expects all stakeholders to rally around the new leadership.
He emphasized that Usman’s integrity and leadership skills make her the right person to lead the party’s repositioning efforts.
