The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the 2024 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal results.
The NECO Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, made this announcement on Thursday during a press briefing in Minna, Niger State.
Professor Wushishi, however, revealed that 21 supervisors across 12 states were blacklisted due to misconduct during the examinations.
These supervisors were found guilty of offenses including poor supervision, aiding and abetting cheating, abscondment, extortion, drunkenness, and negligence.
In addition, one school in Ekiti State was de-recognized after being involved in mass cheating in two core subjects and one science subject.
According to Wushishi, 40 schools in 17 states were implicated in whole-school mass cheating.
These schools will be invited for a discussion with the council, after which appropriate sanctions will be applied.
NECO continues its efforts to uphold the integrity of its examination process by enforcing strict measures against malpractice and misconduct.
The Registrar emphasized that these actions are necessary to maintain the credibility of the national examination system.
