Popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has refuted a bribery allegation placed against him by a controversial social media influencer, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
In a viral audio released by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky alleged that some unnamed operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) collected the sum of N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges against him.
In reaction to the viral audio, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale in a statement issued on Tuesday, said the Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, ordered an immediate investigation into the matter.
Reacting to the development, in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, Bobrisky denied bribing any EFCC officer to drop money laundering charges against him, saying that he served his jail term.
The controversial social media sensation also described the viral voice recording as fake, stressing that the claim that he was never in prison was false and should be ignored.
He wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison… I didn’t pay any EFCC money, which is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out. Discard any false information.”
