The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has initiated a formal investigation into claims of maltreatment of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Libya.
New Telegraph had earlier reported that the Nigerian team were reportedly stranded for over 13 hours at Al Abraq International Airport, with the host nation allegedly disrupting their travel plans.
Also, the Super Eagles have since pulled out of the African Cup of Nations qualifier scheduled to hold on Tuesday, October 15 with the side.
However, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the team’s withdrawal from the AFCON qualifying match, to make an immediate return to Nigeria through a chartered flight.
