The presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said Nigerians cannot afford to make another mistake with the choice of the next president.
He said presidential debates would create avenue for people to make informed decision about their next leaders.
Kwankwaso, who made these remarks during a summit organised by the Coalition of Northern Christian Youth Associations of Nigeria in Abuja, noted that a wrong decision at the poll would be dangerous for the country.
He said, “They bring presidential candidates together to debate so that Nigerians can make an informed decision because now in this election, we cannot afford to make another mistake; that will be too dangerous.”
Speaking further on his endorsement by the group, he said, “I believe this endorsement will go a long way. Let me on behalf of all of us, especially the National Chairman of the party thank you so much; we are taking this very seriously because this is important for our party, the unity of northern Nigeria and the unity of this country”.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress in Kano State has warned that it will defend itself if steps are not taken by security agencies “to stop further unprovoked and mindless attacks and vandalisation of its campaign materials” allegedly masterminded by the NNPP.
The spokesperson for Gawuna/Garo Campaign Council and Commissioner for Information, Mallam Muhammad Garba, issued the warning in a statement on Friday.
