Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party for the 2023 election on Saturday morning arrived in PU 019, Umudimakasi Square, Agulu, Anambra State.
Speaking to the press upon arrival at his polling unit, the former governor of the state expressed optimism of victory at the polls.
When asked what he felt about the support he has received within a short period of time, he said Nigerians supporting him are doing it for themselves rather than for him.
“Nobody is supporting me. Those supporting me are supporting themselves. I’m supporting myself. We all want a better Nigeria,” Obi said.
“I’m feeling the pressure of the support,” he added. “This Obidient is not for free. It’s a trust. I cannot betray the trust. If I do, God will punish me.”
Obi is contesting the Nigerian presidency against Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other candidates.
