The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has described the process of collating and presenting presidential election results by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as a “shame.”
The spokesperson of the NNPP Presidential Campaign Council, Ladipo Johnson made this assertion during an interview with Arise News morning show on Tuesday.
Nigerians went to the polls on Saturday to elect their preferred candidates in the Presidential and National Assembly elections, but there have been allegations against INEC in some quarters in the manner it handled the results.
Johnson alleged that there was a systemic rigging and also complained that his party’s logo was not legible on the ballot papers for the electorate to see during the election.

“It was a sham. There was a systemic rigging. We had an illegible logo in the ballot papers. The logo was legible to the people,” Johnson said.
He also affirmed that NNPP is not a spoiler for any political party, stressing that it has a message different from other parties to pass to the Nigerian populace.
