Paris Saint Germain president Nasser Al Khelaifi is under investigation over allegations of kidnapping and torturing filed by Franco-Algerian power breaker Tayeb Benabderrahmane.
The accusations were made known on Monday after several months of the complain being submitted.
Under French law, a judicial investigation will be conducted with regard to the alleged crimes.
According to the reports filed by Benabderrahmane, he claimed he was taken against his will and was tortured in 2020 for being in possession of cringe-worthy information that could implicate the PSG owner.
Benabderrahmane claims that the compromising information is in the possession of Al Khelaifi’s mobile device.
The proclaimed details could prove Al Khelaifi guilty of some wrongdoing in regard to FIFA’s decision to hand the hosting of the FIFA World Cup to Qatar.
The information also includes decisions to award television rights for the two World Cups that are arriving in 2026 and 2030 to BeIN media which Nasser Al Khelaifi is chairman of.
