Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has lauded Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for supporting the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
Fayose also urged residents of Oyo State to re-elect Makinde to enable him complete the good job he had been doing in the state.
The former governor described Makinde as the best and only option for the state, adding that the people of the state cannot afford to throw away the baby with the birth water.
The former Ekiti State governor, who spoke while featuring on Fresh 105.9 FM Ibadan programme, said that it would have been dangerous for the governor to go against Tinubu at the presidential election.
MEANWHILE, the gubernatorial candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Michael Lana, has stepped down his ambition and endorsed the candidacy of Makinde of the PDP ahead of the March 18 election.
Lana alleged that some of those at the helm of affairs within the SDP at the state level sold out for a pittance and declared for the opposition without the consent of other stakeholders in the party.
He said: “After discussing with Makinde, we decided that he needs help from all capable hands within and outside the state to achieve his dreams for the state and we have resolved to assist him in doing this.
“We have, therefore, resolved to inform all our teeming supporters to vote massively for Makinde of the PDP on Saturday, March 18, 2023 and get him elected as governor of Oyo State.”
