Gombe State All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged the zonal and national secretariats to endorse the sack of Senators Muhammadu Danjuma Goje and Amos Bulus Kilawangs by their constituencies for alleged anti-party activities.
The state APC made the call, yesterday, while reaffirming the expulsion of the two senators and a member of the House of Representatives by their wards and local councils.
Goje (Gombe Central), Kilawangs (Gombe South) and Yunusa Ahmed Abubakar in the House of Representatives for Lubo/Difa/Kinafa, Yamaltu Deba, were accused of sponsoring candidates of opposition parties at the recent general elections, an action, it said, affected the party’s fortune, as many candidates lost their political bids.
It informed newsmen that it adopted the decision of Goje’s Kashere Ward in Akko Local Council to expel him, in line with provisions of the party’s constitution.
“The State Executive Council (SEC) endorsed the decision of Bambam Ward in Balanga Local Council for the expulsion of Kilawangs and has also endorsed the decision of Lubo/Difa/Kinafa Ward in Yamaltu Deba Local Council to expel Abubakar,” the publicity secretary, Moses Kiari, stated.
Gombe APC urged the zonal and national bodies to endorse the decision of the party from ward, council to state, which is in line with the provisions of Article 21 (A), Subsection ii, iii, vi and vii of the APC Constitution.
The party, however, passed confidence vote in Governor Muhammadu Yahaya for what it called “exemplary leadership qualities.”
