A Colombian influencer, Mike Jambs, who tattooed Lionel Messi’s name on his face after Argentina’s World Cup triumph has regretted his actions.
The fan inked the word ‘MESSI’ on his forehead and three stars on one of his cheeks for each of the World Cups Argentina had won, Daily Mail reported.
On his Instagram page, the influencer had earlier defended his decision against coming under fire when he posted a video of himself having the tattoo done.
“I’m not harming anyone, I’m not doing anything illegal,” he insisted.
However, Jambs made a U-turn, as he wished he could turn back the hands of time over his decisions.
“I regret having done the tattoo because instead of bringing me positive things, it’s led to lots of negative things, both personally and for my family,” he lamented.
The PUNCH had reported that fans of the Argentine team queued up in Buenos Aires for tattoos of victorious captain Messi and the World Cup trophy.
“For the next two weeks, I have (appointments) exclusively related to the World Cup,” tattoo artist Esteban Vucinovich told AFP in the capital.
“Some had already made an appointment for tattoos of snakes or skulls, but they are changing it to Messi or the Cup. I have two or three appointments a day,” he said.
The most requested skin art is of the trophy, said Vucinovich, followed by Messi and then goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez who was crucial in the victory of the Albiceleste in the final against France.
