A former Chief of Staff to the late Abiola Ajimobi, Prof. Gbade Ojo, yesterday, warned Governor Seyi Makinde against his alleged plan to align with the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu.
Ojo cautioned Makinde to learn from what happened to former Governors Segun Osoba, Bisi Akande, Adebayo Adefarati, Lam Adesina and Niyi Adebayo when they went into alliance with Obasanjo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2003.
The former Chief of Staff to the late Ajimobi, who gave the charge while speaking with The Guardian in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, said:
“Governor Makinde needs to be very careful in his rumoured alliance with Tinubu for the 2023 polls. He should learn from what happened to Segun Osoba, Bisi Akande, Adebayo Adefarati, Lam Adesina and Niyi Adebayo when they went into alliance with Olusegun Obasanjo of the PDP.
“If Makinde is not careful, what happens then may repeat itself’.”
