Former Edo State Commissioner of Information, Kassim Afegbua, has stated that his race for the state governorship elections slated for September 21, 2024, would help fill the leadership vacuum that currently exists in the state.
Afegbua, who stated this in an exclusive interview with Saturday PUNCH on Thursday berated the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, for his inability to continue where his predecessor, Adams Oshiomohole stopped.
He said, “For me, this is like a clarion call to help fill the leadership vacuum that presently exists in the Edo State. Under the PDP in Edo State, there is some kind of political squabbles.
“The governor and the deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, instead of promoting love and harmony, are spreading hatred and disunity.”
He explained that his campaign slogan is “Let us unite for who we are, for what we have been,” adding that his ambition is to restore the glory of Edo State.
