The member of Imo State House of Assembly representing Isu state constituency, Emeka Ozurumba, has pledged to restore electricity in Amuri Omanze community in Isu Local Government Area of the state.
Ozurumba made the pledge when executives of Amurie Omanze Development Union paid him a courtesy visit in his office at the Assembly Complex in Owerri, the state capital.
Expressing gratitude to the executives of the AODU for the visit, Ozurumba said that the visit depicted the quality of love the union has for him.
The lawmaker urged anyone he might have offended in his quest to gain election into the House to forgive him and promised to work with Modestus Osakwe, who had been designated a commissioner in the state.
He said, “On your request that I should work hand in hand with my brother, Hon Modestus Osakwe, for the program and development of Isu Local Government, I assure you that I am already doing that.
“Today, he is a commissioner-designate and will soon be inaugurated with a good portfolio. I urge you to forgive me if I offended you in the process of seeking to come to the Assembly to represent you.
“I am happy you all have accepted to work with me, for the progress and development of Isu state constituency. I will continue to show immense support to any activity presented by AODU, for the upliftment of Isu Local Government Area. Presently, I have started making move to restore electricity in Amurie. I will soon join the Owerri branch of Amurie Development Union.”
Earlier, the Chairman of Amurie Omanze Development Union, Bede Agara, expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded him and his members.
He commended the lawmaker for his electoral victory and reminded him of his promise to join Amurie Omanze Development Union, Owerri branch.
Agara also thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for appointing an Isu man a commissioner and called for synergy between Ozurumba and Osakwe in the interest of Isu Local Government Area.
