A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, George Okoye, has pleaded with interested parties not to let the main opposition party die out in the nation’s politics.
Okoye who made the plea in a statement issued on Monday said PDP’s leadership shouldn’t let their own goals and interests cause the party to fail.
The former member of the State Assembly pointed out that the PDP should not be allow to fade away as the sole formidable opposition party and the cornerstone of democratic governance in the nation.
He, however, advised the party’s leadership to avoid joining a fictitious “New Mega Party” and instead work together to reorganise the party for a better Nigeria.
“The leadership of PDP is complacent, they are just going through the motions, looking for direction.
“Joining a ‘Mega Party’ cannot work in Nigeria today. The only thing that PDP needs now is to resolve its leadership challenges,” he said.
