The Kaduna State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed that its operatives apprehended eight suspected armed robbery syndicates as well as four receivers of stolen stuff.
ASP Mansir Hassan, the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on Wednesday in Kaduna.
According to him, on May 9, at about 3:00 p.m., a surveillance patrol team from the Unguwan Rimi Division apprehended three suspects, Khalid Lawal, Abdulhamid Zubairu, and Musa Yusuf, along the Yakowa Express Way.
He added that the suspects, who were returning from a robbery operation, confessed to their crimes when apprehended.
Hassan said, “Operatives have successfully arrested notorious robbery suspects who have been terrorizing the Areas of Barnawa, Sabon Tasha and Karji of Kaduna metropolitan area.”
“The case was later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.”
However, he said the investigations indicated that the suspects, who were armed with firearms, knives, and machetes, colluded with other criminals who were eventually apprehended.
The names are Aminu Aliyu (aka Bosho), Idris Ibrahim, Musa Muhammed, Abubakar Lawal (called Dan Master), and Alhassan Musa.
