The erstwhile Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, has pledged his support for the incumbent Governor of the state, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu, in his efforts to develop the state.
Bafarawa, the leader of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, made this known during the inauguration of the reconstructed Danchadi Road, a major highway in Sokoto State.
He commended Governor Aliyu for his dedication to serving the people of Sokoto and pledged his support for the government’s efforts to develop the state.
“This is a significant development, as it shows a rare display of bipartisan support in the political sphere.
It appears that there is a positive development in Sokoto State’s political landscape, as former Governor Bafarawa has offered his support to the current Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, in his efforts to develop the state.
This show of support across party lines is a welcome development and a testament to the importance of putting the needs of the people above political differences.
In his remarks, Governor Aliyu said the contract for the reconstruction of the road was awarded to two construction firms at the cost of N711 million.
