The Sokoto State Police Command on Thursday arrested four interstate tricycle, better known as Keke Maruwa’s theft Syndicates and recovered the stolen ones.
New Telegraph reports that the suspects were arrested by Sokoto State Police Command’s Strike Force, led by Inspector Murtala Garba (Zico).
They were arrested along Kasuwar Kanawa and Rijiyar Shehu Area Sokoto, and a suspected stolen yellow-coloured TVC tricycle recovered from them.
In a statement issued by ASP Ahmad Rufai, Police Public Relations Officer, Sokoto State Command said those in the police nets include Aliyu Shehu, aged 24, Ahmad Muhammad, aged 23, Umar Usman Muhammad, aged 23 and Yahaya Abubakar, aged 27 all of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area in Kebbi State.
“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to having been committing the criminal act of stealing in Birnin kebbi and Sokoto State”.
They further confessed to having stolen the recovered tricycle from where it was parked on June 23, 2024, during a wake.
The suspects also confessed to have Stolen two Tricycles, Five Motorcycles and GSM phones in Birnin kebbi.
They mentioned One Usman, Abdul, Abdullahi Dan Malam, Abdul Dan Karya and First Lady of Kamba LGA of Kebbi State others are Malam Sani of Zamfara and One Shehi of Sokoto State Now at large as their receivers.
The suspects will be arraigned and prosecuted once investigations are concluded.
