Nigerian Gospel singer, Victoria Orenze has clarified her statement after addressing God with a trendy and circular phrase, ‘Jehovah El-Steeze’.
This came following a declaration made by the singer in a now-viral video where passionately describing God with the word, ‘Steeze.’
Saturday Telegraph reports that the word “Steeze” is a trending English word which has been widely used to describe an individual’s swag and attractive appearance.
Following the backlash that trailed her comment, Victoria Orenze has clarified her statement while backing it with bible verses that described God with words like fire, vehicle, thunder and others.
She wrote: “Steeze is an English word in the dictionary which speaks of a person’s distinctive and impressive way of doing things or style also one who has composure.
“God’s distinctive and impressive way, style and composure blows my mind. Scriptures says He is a consuming fire Heb. 12:29 Another says He is wrapped in light meaning He wears light Psalms 104:2 another says the cloud is His vehicle Psalm 104:3,
“His eyes are like fire Rev.19:12, 1:14 and His voice like thunder, like the sound of many waters. Another says in His presence mountains skip like ram psalm 114:1-8.
“He is not just composure but everything else created loses their composure before Him. He is not just covered in light but He is light. Today He can ride on the cloud as His vehicle and tomorrow He is riding the wind. That’s why I call Him my Jehovah El Steeze.
“I follow understanding and revelation, not slang or trends. Pause in your trends and see God. Finally, I leave this with us – The fact that we have used the word “Steeze” as slang or another example word “loose guard” as slang does not change their meaning in English.
“Scriptures says the ONE that watches of me neither sleeps nor slumber, So I can safely say my God does not and can never lose guard. ❤️.”
