Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has taken to her social media page to lament over Nigeria’s worsening economic situation after buying a tuber of yam for N10K.
According to her, she had just spent her entire N150,000 buying necessities at an Ogba market.
Taking to her Instagram page, Nkechi Blessing questioned the sustainability of the current economic conditions, asking whether others had given up on the state of affairs.
She vented her frustration on the things she purchased, emphasizing how expensive life is.
The actress who felt compelled to expressed her worries acknowledged that she was not rich hence feeling the heat in the country.
She added that people from different economic backgrounds are having difficulties, and that it might be time for her to look into chances overseas.
She said: “So I carried N150k to the market to buy basic things – Turkey 2 kilos, catfish, life chicken, and goat meat. Guess what? N1000 didn’t return home with me.
“One yam na N10000 now. I noticed that people aren’t talking about the economy anymore; it’s like you guys enjoy it. I am not rich, so I will complain. Besides, even the rich are complaining. I am not the rich but one of the masses, and I am complaining like this.
It’s time to dust my passport because it is no longer getting funny.”
