As efforts are being made by stakeholders to prevent a degeneration of social peace as a result of a planned ‘protest against hunger’, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), is set to hold its 84th Senate sitting, themed: “Role of Students in Maintaining National Peace ”
Billed to hold between the 26th to 28th of July, 2024, students from all over the country will converge in Ibadan Poly to discuss pressing national issues.
The President of NANS’ Senate, Akinteye Babatunde, who disclosed this said the three-day event kickstarts with the arrival of participants on Friday, 26th July. This will allow for inclusive and robust deliberations slated for Saturday, the 27th, while delegates are expected to return to their various locations on Sunday, the 28th of July.
The Sitting will take place at the Auditorium, The Polytechnic, Ibadan and is expected to, traditionally, culminate in a communique at the end.
NANS Senate Sitting offers a platform for students to contribute to the national discussion, prioritizing the interests and well-being of all students and Nigerians in general.
Akinteye, in the statement, also noted that: “Through the upcoming NANS Senate sitting, students are poised to play a pivotal role in shaping a more prosperous, peaceful, resilient and inclusive future for the nation.
