An 18-year-old barber, Moses Gabriel, has been charged in court on allegations of stealing food and provisions.
Gabriel, was brought before the Omi-Adio Chief Magistrates’ Court by the police for allegedly breaking into a shop and taking away food items and provisions valued at N92,000.
The prosecutor, Insp Ken Brasana, revealed that on the night of July 18 around 11:30 p.m, the defendant unlawfully entered a shop belonging to Tomi Bakare, with the intention of stealing.
The stolen goods, worth N92,000, belonged to Miss Bakare from the Kuole area of Odo-Ona in Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident was reported at the Apata Divisional Police Station by the complainant, Ms. Bakare, on July 19.
The charges against Gabriel include breaking and entering with the intent to steal, as stated by Mr. Brasana. These actions are in violation of section 383 and are punishable under sections 390 (9) and 413 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
