Nigerians have flooded social media as controversial Nigerian transgender, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky regained his freedom after spending six months in prison.
New Telegraph recalls that the self-acclaimed “Mummy of Lagos” was in April 2024 sentenced to a six-month jail term by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos over Naira abuse.
The judge, who sentenced Bobrisky without an option of fine, said his sentence would serve as a lesson for others abusing the Naira notes.
Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12, and his release date was initially, set for July 29, 2024, however, it has been extended to Monday, August 5th due to an alleged miscalculation.
Following his release date today, August 5th, social media has been eagerly awaiting his return online and anticipating what will be the first video he posts.
In his first video, Bobrisky is spotted looking posh and beautiful with no indication that he had just spent six months in prison.
The crossdresser was even looking like he had gained more weight instead of losing weight as one would expect from someone who was imprisoned.
His new video has however garnered speculation on social media with many alleging that Bobrisky was never jailed but was simply placed on house arrest and warned to stay off social media.
