Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and ex-Military President Ibrahim Babangida (IBB) were conspicuously absent as President Bola Tinubu chairs his maiden Council of State Meeting at the Presidential Villa.
Those physically present at the ongoing meeting are: the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, Senate President, Goodwill Akpabio, former President Muhammadu Buhari and former President Goodluck Jonathan.
Former Heads of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar joined the meeting virtually.
State governors, who are statutory members of the Council, were either physically present or represented.
Though the agenda of the meeting was not disclosed as at the time of filing this report, but it may not be unconnected with the state of the nation.
Recall that the nation has just emerged from a 10-day nationwide hunger protests between August 1-10th.
There are indications too that the nation’s state of economy and insecurity may also feature in the deliberations by the stakeholders.
