Nigerian midfielder, Afeez Aremu, is pleased to have signed a new contract extension with his Bundesliga 2 club St Pauli, Saturday PUNCH reports.
The details of the new deal were, however, not revealed by both party.
Aremu who joined St Pauli in 2020 from Norwegian club, IK Start was in the final six months of his current deal at the club.
“I’m so pleased to have extended my stay at St Pauli and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season and for the future,” Aremu told the club’s official website. “Hamburg has become our second home for my family and me, so I am happy to play for FC St.Pauli in the coming years. I thank the club for the support and trust, I want to repay with good performances. I’m going to have a good time with my friends.”
Since his arrival at St. Pauli, he has featured in 53 matches including 48 in the second tier of German football and five in the DFB Pokal, logging 2,642 minutes.
Aremu is expected to be in action for St Pauli when they face FC Nurnberg in their first game after the winter break on January 29, 2023.
