Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has assured people of the state that his second term would be more beneficial to them than the first.
Makinde stated this when he took his campaign tour to Lagelu Local Council.
The governor, who also met with the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the League of Imams and Alfas and the traditional worshippers at different locations, reiterated that he would continue to be fair to all religious bodies.
He, therefore, rallied residents of the council to vote for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), noting that whatever good development they have seen his administration do, “is little compared to what is coming under Omituntun 2.0.”
Meanwhile, the senatorial candidate of Accord Party (AP) for Oyo South District, Kolapo Kola-Daisi, yesterday, urged Nigerian youths to get involved and use their votes to send away leaders who are inflicting poverty on Nigerians.
Kola-Daisi, who stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, said some leaders were weaponising poverty to keep Nigerians in bondage.
The former banker, who said that the youths had a lot to offer in the next polls, stressed the need to recalibrate the system.
‘’The youths need to get involved. There is a lot I can offer. The only thing we lack is leadership. Our system is expensive. We need to recalibrate the system. There is a gap between what our leaders ought to be doing rather than what they do. People believe in immediate gratification. Leaders are weaponising poverty. It is as if our leaders want to see us poor. We need to vote for leaders that will be committed to development. Let us come out to vote.
‘’People are tired of the same old faces. We need people that can do things differently.”
